22 Jul Viglacera organized Seminar to Attract Investment in Phu Tho Province
In the morning of 20 July 2015, under the chairmanship of People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province, Viglacera Corporation coordinated with Planning and Investment Department, and Phu Tho Industrial Park Management Board to organize “Seminar on Competitiveness Advancement and Invironment Improvement to Attract Investment in Phu Tho Province in 2015”.

Giving opening speech for the Seminar, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province, Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh, said that aware of the importance and meaning of competitiveness advancement and climate improvement to attract investment, for the last years, along with actively mobilizing resources, focusing on infrastructure construction, plannings of industrial zones and clusters, and urban development, etc., to attract investment, Phu Tho Province has established and promulgated investment preference policies and mechanisms, and accelerated administrative procedure reforms, etc.
Through the Seminar Phu Tho Province hoped that leaders and experts from Foreign Investment Agency (Ministry of Planning and Investment), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, trade promoion agencies and investors would actively provide the Province with practical and effective solutions so that the Province could continue to optimize its potentials and advantages, improve business invironment to become a safe and attractive destination of domestic and foreign investors.
At the Seminar, Representative of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, analyzed and assessed 2014 PCI Rankings and Phu Tho Province gained 57,72 per 100, ranking 39th out of 63 provinces and cities, jumping 15 places from 2013, and classified as a province with fair PCI.
According to Chief Representative of JETRO Hanoi, Mr. Atsusuke Kawada, Phu Tho is a highly potential investment destination. However, there are only some Japanses enterprises here.
Therefore, in order to be more successful in attracting FDI, Phu Tho needs to focus on infrastructure accomplishment, human resource development, propaganda program acceleration, as well as at the same time, pay more attention to foreign companies investing in the Province.
At the Seminar, economic experts and investors also presented reports assessing and analyzing activities to attract investment of provinces and cities in the country, trend of attracting foreign investment in Phu Tho and lessons and experience from investment attraction and investment trends of Japanese and Korean companies in Vietnam in general and in Phu Tho in particular.
Premises of Phu Ha Industrial Zone in Phu Tho Province
Head of Phu Tho Industrial Zone Management Board, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thien, said at present in the Province, there were seven industrial zones and thirty industrial clusters with a total of 4000 acres, attracting 150 domestic and foreign investors to do business, bringing an industrial manufacture value of 15,000 billion VND each year, contributing from 600 to 1,000 billion VND to state budget, and creating more than 35,000 jobs.
At present, Phu Tho is focusing on mobilizing resources to invest in synchronous infrastructure construction in industrial zones and clusters, meeting investors’ requirements with quick and convenient procedures; promulgating many preference policies regarding land rental prices, corporate income tax, import and export tariffs by sectors, and facilitating investors to complete investment procedures, etc.,
Grasping strengths, potentials and preference policies of Phu Tho, Viglacera invested to develop two industrial zones, contributing to sustainable development and becoming a driving force for development of the whole province, accelerating transformations of economic and population structures, creating favorable conditions to attract investment for industrial development, and increasing industry’s contribution to the Province’s social and economical development; and reasonably exploiting and using land budget, creating environment and landscape architecture suitable to the Province’s development.
